Just Who
Is Bob Goff?

Not a picture of Bob Goff! This
is Stan Freberg, one of the funniest men on the planet!
Well...I was born on September 17th, 1963
in Tomah Wisconsin.
Music has been my passion from an early
age...the first album I remember buying was The Beatles' "Sgt.
Pepper" album, although my mother reminds me that I wore out two
copies of Alvin & The Chipmunks before I turned six!
My father listened to music constantly and
had a record collection with everything from Glen Campbell &
Merle Haggard to Bob Dylan. We'd visit my grandmother and
I'd listen to music soundtracks from Ben Hur, Broadway cast
recordings of South Pacific and West Side Story and Herb Alpert
and the Tijuana Brass.
In fifth and sixth grades, I competed in
The Modern Woodman of America student speech contest. My
fifth grade year I placed third, in sixth grade I won!
Little did I know how much those two speeches would move me in
the direction my life would go.
In Junior High, I represented some of the
groups I was in on the local radio stations' (WTMB AM-FM)
morning news and talk program "Time for Listening" The show was
hosted by Del Lonnquist and Doug Reuteler. Each time I was
on, my time on-the-air got longer. I don't know if it was
because I was usually the only one who would talk or because
they liked me, but just as I began my Freshman High School year,
Del called and wanted me to see him. He told me that he
remembered me from when he judged those speech contests and that
he thought I had a good, clear speaking voice and would I like
to get into radio.
One quick meeting with the station owner
later and on November 11th, 1979 I started an all-night weekend
slot playing big band and instrumental music on a 100,000 watt
powerhouse of a station! I stayed there through High School,
left and attended Brown Institute (now Brown College) in
Minneapolis, then returned until 1985 when the station was sold
after the death of the owner.
I lived in Minneapolis for a while, working
both in and out of radio. Then various jobs took me to
Milwaukee...Rochester, MN...Omaha, NE...La Crosse, WI...until I
wound up once again back in Warrens, WI. I now live about
10 miles from where I was born and pretty much raised.
As of July of 2006 I am a
full-time Wedding Entertainer!
My hobbies include reading, collecting
comics, going to movies and collecting the good ones on DVD and,
of course, music!
I also spend as much time as I can with my
fiancé, Tammy and her two kids, Garth and Sophie!
